Dr. Brian L. Hawkins: Transforming the Learning Environment.
Play It
140 minutes.
From 3/25/2004.
What are the trends in higher education that are changing teaching and learning as a function of information technology? Hawkins explores a number of barriers to the transformation of the learning environment as they affect the roles of faculty and information service providers within higher education.
He examines IT trends, as well as their impact on organization structures on campus, the marketplace for higher education, the culture of our institutions and the business practices that we employ, which all lead to both a turbulent and transformed enterprise.
Dr. Brian L. Hawkins is president of Educause, a non-profit association whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology.
